In this Madden 15 tip video Ccpr53 breaks down a great make shift screen concept from Pistol Bunch TE. This play can be found in the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and the Run N Gun playbooks. This is a great play to take a shot on because it will get a positive gain pretty much every time, but it will also have home run potential when the blocks set up correctly.
Adjustments:
- Drag the TE
- Place the RB on a Wheel (Right Hash) or a Swing Left (Left Hash)
The reads on this play are based on getting a quick man or zone read. Against zone we will be throwing the WR screen 99% of the time. Against man coverage we have a couple choices depending on what happens with the defense.
ZONE READ
Against zone we are setting up extra blockers for the WR screen pass. As soon as you see zone just wait for the RB to start heading up the field, this can usually be timed by throwing the ball right after the QB does his pump fake, throw the ball to the WR screen. Once you catch the ball look for the seam created by the TE, RB, and WR on the trail route.
MAN READ: FIRST OPTION
Against man coverage your first look will be to the WR on the wheel route. Many times this route will gain amazing separation as it makes the break up field. If the defense has him covered by a CB with high ratings however, the route will almost be mirrored. In the event the route gets mirrored look to the trail route as it comes over the middle, if it is covered then just wait on it and throw a lob pass as it crosses the right hash mark.
