Learn This First
Show Run First, Then Punish
This is not a run package plus a pass package. It is one constraint offense. You come out in the same run look every single snap and let the defense tell you what to do next.
  • Open the game running it. Elitee's first call out of the huddle is a run from Pistol U Off Trips, on the very first play, on purpose.
  • That look is a two tight end formation, so the defense reads run and plays it honest. The formation shift has already swapped a third receiver in, so you are not actually paying for that run look.
  • If they stay light and let you run: keep running. The three run calls in this playbook cover it and you do not have to throw at all.
  • The moment they load the box or start cheating a safety down, audible into Gun Bunch X Nasty and take the pass.
  • Flipping and shifting pre-snap also scrambles their alignment, so even a correct call can end up misaligned against you.
  • The whole point: the run makes the Bunch calls open, and the Bunch calls make the run stay open. Do not skip straight to passing.
Learn This First
The Formation Shift Glitch
This is the mechanic that makes the above possible, and it is the first thing you do every game, before you call a single real play. Pistol U Off Trips is a two tight end set. This gets your third receiver in it instead.
  • Set your audibles in Pistol U Off Trips first, then go to Gun Bunch X Nasty.
  • Sub a backup tight end into the slot. Rating does not matter, any tight end works.
  • From Bunch X Nasty, use the formation shift at the bottom of the screen. It will now let you shift into the two tight end sets. Pick U Off Trips.
  • Call any play, then audible to a run and actually snap it. Run the play from that formation. Do not pass here, you do not want two tight ends out there.
  • Back out to the play call screen and sub your receiver back in. The formation label will read something else, but you will still come out in the last formation you used.
  • Do not touch the formation after that. If you mess it up you just glitch the package again, it is not lost for the game.
  • Payoff: no matter how you flip the play, your fast slot receiver is always the one on the RPO flat.

Set Up
  1. 1Start here every game. Your first call out of the huddle is a run from this look, first play, on purpose.
  2. 2Three runs total: HB Zone Weak, Inside Zone, and the RPO Alert TE Flat. That is the whole package.
  3. 3Always come out with Bunch to the SHORT side of the field. Press X to formation shift, and while they are shifting, flip the play so Bunch ends up on the wide side. This also wrecks your opponent's alignment.
  4. 4Read the D line stunt before you pick the run. Texas stunt (both edge guys crashing the A gap) shuts down Inside Zone, so run HB Zone. El Paso stunt (D tackles looping outside) shuts down HB Zone, so run Inside Zone.
  5. 5On the RPO, do not use the stock flat. Hot route that slot player to a TIGHT END FLAT. He is lined up as a tight end so the game allows it, and he catches it in stride running flat instead of drifting upfield.
  6. 6The tight end flat also runs BEHIND your blockers instead of in front of them. That is the difference maker.
  7. 7Untarget the far outside corner on the RPO side. Now that corner runs himself out of the play and you are one on one with your man. Sprint for the sideline and make one move.
Adjustments
  • Keep running until they make you stop. If the box stays light there is no reason to throw at all.
  • Untargeting the outside receiver also frees him to block the hard flat defender. If they are dropping a hard flat to guard the tight end flat, that block springs it.
  • PA Boot Over is in the audibles as a fourth option, but Elitee does not run it much. Treat it as a change up, not a staple.
  • With the run game this strong, you do not have to pass much. Let the run set up the Bunch calls.

What playbook and formations is this?
The Washington State playbook. Two formations only: Pistol U Off Trips for the run and RPO game, and Gun Bunch X Nasty as the primary passing formation. Learn two looks and one formation shift and you have the whole scheme.
What is the formation shift glitch and do I have to use it?
Pistol U Off Trips is a two tight end set by default. The formation shift puts your third receiver in it instead, which is what makes the RPO and the run package work the way Elitee runs them. It takes about thirty seconds at the start of a game. Yes, you want it.
Is this the same as the other Washington State guide on the site?
No. This is Elitee's own scheme, filmed fresh for CFB 27, with his formations, his audibles, and his reads. If you already run Washington State it gives you a second set of answers. If you have never touched the playbook it stands completely on its own.
